A Shared History and Mission
DCP and Rocketship were both founded in the Washington-Guadalupe neighborhood of San José with the same mission: to provide a quality education to students in low-income communities. Together our schools are helping to equip students with the academic, socio-emotional and college readiness skills they need to build the lives their families have aspired to for generations. Over the year, Rocketeers have been highly successful at DCP. Next year the first group of founding Rocketeers will graduate from college. You can learn more about some of those students below. Chelsea's path to college began when her parents enrolled her at Rocketship Los Sueños Academy in the 3rd grade. After attending DCP for middle school and high school, she's finally headed to college this Fall at UC Berkeley! She shares her story on the Rocketship blog titled "Achieving My College Dreams".
Meet Maya
Maya was a founding student at Rocketship Mateo Sheedy, then a founding student at DCP Alum Rock Middle School and High School. As a sophomore at DCP, she was part of the engineering team that won the national Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest. Now she is entering her final year at UC Berkeley.
